I remember seeing part of a film when I was quite young, probably around 6 or 7. As far as I can remember, the main character was a young girl with some kind of supernatural capacity either to cause fires or predict them. All I can remember is one scene when she's sitting at the table and draws a picture of a house in flames.
I'm guessing the film/series is from the 70s or 80s.
I thought for a bit it might be the film Firestarter with Drew Barrymore, but no...
Any help would be greatly appreciated - thanks a lot!
Thanks for the suggestion! I've had a look at the plot synopsis, and it doesn't really ring any bells - and I can't see any mention of drawings of houses on fire, seems to centre on a car crash - but I was very young at the time... I'll check it out!
Sounds like it could be an obscure little film called "Paperhouse" from 1988...a young girl finds that she can retreat into a fantasy world, drawing herself a mysterious house which seems to be linked to her troubled past. Might be worth checking it out!
Thanks, Ripper, will definitely see if I can find it!
Added after doing some internet searching: I think the film version is too recent (I must have caught the scene on TV in the early 1980s). However, I am wondering if it could have been the TV series based on the same book, which aired in the early 70s under the title "Escape into Night"...
Does anyone know if the series was shown again in the early to mid-80s?
I've looked at Kidnapped and Kidnappers and it's neither of these but about that time of issue. Can anyone identify a black&white film for me? Young Scottish boy (very famous at te time) with blond hair, runs away into the hills or is kidnapped? Yes, I know - very brief and not much to go on but, if you know it, you know it.
