DVD Language & Subtitle Info

I am a Brit with 2 kids living in Denmark. I love buying a good bargain, DVD or Blu ray from Amazon. Unfortunately I am quite often forced to go else where or pay extra for an alternative which could actually be the same product because we are almost never given information on alternative languages and subtitles (my kids want Danish language and my wife Danish subtitles). I quite often see people asking for these details using the review facility. If enough people make enough noise about it (e.g. joining this discussion) maybe Amazon will hear and start providing this very basic info or even just a decent sized picture of the back cover so we can see for ourselves. I am sure you will gain some new international customers.

Useful info from another post:
Nuno Fonseca says: I totally understand you. I also asked Amazon.co.uk to enter the audio/subtitle information on the blu-rays... Then I moved to a second phase - I talked with some friends, joined the Amazon Associate program (to have access to their BD information, like prices, images, etc) and we developed a web site: www.blu-world.co.uk Our goal was to create a site to help Amazon.co.uk customers to find blu-rays with the audio/subtitle requirements they want. It's brand new but already have some success. We even placed some features than Amazon will probably never implement, like an audio/subtitle filter. And, as an user community, users can share audio/subtitle information with the other users. For instance, from the 1625 blu-rays on our database, we have 285 items with Danish subtitles and 12 items with danish audio. And, of course, the site have the direct links back to Amazon.co.uk products.

I totally agree! It happens all the time, Amazon seldom provides information about subtitles! Amazon.com is a little bit better, but with Amazon.co.uk it's always the same annoying thing.
My French is great (I'm Portuguese), but I prefer to watch the film with subtitles (in French), it's quite a good exercise. Everybody complains about this, but Amazon never listens!

Amazon just doesn't care, they are too big now. What drives me mad is that BBC also don't care. I have bought many boxsets mentioning English for the Hard of Hearing on the outside, only to discover that this is not the case with all DVDs inside the box. Shame on both and probably on us too if we keep buying their products!
