I was really looking forward to the arrival of this so, I charged the tablet and started to use it. Within a minute of using it, it had switched itself off and started again from completely off. This has happened 6 times so far. there is an audible click, the screen goes blank and then it starts to reboot. The last time was just as I was browsing my facebook page. My fingers were nowhere near the touchscreen. Am I doing something wrong or is the machine faulty? I have had the machine for 4 hours now and it is still plugged into the wall.

I'd really recommend doing a factory reset. This is likely to solve your problem and also improve the performance of the tablet. It made a massive difference to mine.

Thank you DC, but as you probably guessed from the terms I used I really know very little about IT. I would be so greatful for a little guidance here. Thank you

Looking through the old discussions it seems a factory reset is sticking a pin in the tiny hole. I am reluctant to do that because i dont have a clue what im doing. The tablet is averaging a minute or 2 of running, then either switching itself off or freezing

Factory reset is in the settings. Settings > Backup & Reset > Factory Data Reset.

If you are still stuck on the android screen, hold the power button down for around 10 secs or untill it switches off. In think this force it to shut down. Try power it up again and hopefully it will load up properly and you can reset it through the settings. If not then the pin hole is a reset button.

A reset for me dramatically improved my device. I didnt have a problem like yours but was suffering with quite a bit of lag and apps freezing and needing to be force closed. But now its fantastic.

Sorry, thought I'd replied but obviously forgot to hit post.

Bagpuss is absolutely correct in all aspects of the response. I'd recommend a factory data reset to all users, who have not done this already. The performance difference on my device was also huge. The reset process will wipe all data on the internal memory and all apps will have to be re-downloaded. Stuff on the external SD card will remain untouched.
