Could anyone please inform what are the subtitles languages on the house season2 box set?
This info should be provided by amazon but they normally forget to mention the other subtitles languages in the DVD

An earlier post by someone reported that you can get some if not all House with English language sound and subtitles from the German site. It's the German version but has options for Engish. My thanks to whoever sent tthat in, I've ordered a DVD from them. You have to make some guesses if you don't know German though. Subtitles is 'untertitel' and speech is 'sprache', hope that helps.

It would be a very good thing indeed if Amazon ALWAYS stated whether any subtitles are available on any DVD they sell.
It would be a great help to foreign (French) customers like me, particularly when it comes to films with American speaking characters, who speak a language one is not used to hear and comprehend. As G B Shaw once put it, British and American people have many things in common, but not the language.

Hi Al Edwards, I don't know if it was me you heard it from but I bought the German version of Series 1 and reported upon how to get it from to other Amazon customers, a few years ago. Just to add to your comment - people can log into using their regular password and email. The German versions (of not just House but many other series) has subtitle and audio-speech options in both English and German (and sometimes other languages) - so why the English version can't provide at least English subtitles is beyond me!!

As you say, customers just need to double-check what "untertitle" and "sprache" is listed available against the particular DVD they're interested in.

Sometimes the main-menu screens will always be in the host language (or at the very least until you change the language settings), but be it German, Dutch (of which I've a few), French or Spanish-Italian, it isn't hard to fathom the options.

It works out a little more expensive to buy from any of the Amazon european sites (and you won't get super-saver delivery etc) but if you need subtitles in English (my mum is very hard of hearing), you need subtitles! and if you ever get stuck on the language of the German site (as I did regarding accidentally accepting promotional emails from I found it very easy to email customer service and got help and answers in English - in fact they just sorted it for me without me having to go back and find whatever setting or box I must have clicked.
