i really enjoyed Philip Pullmans northern lights trilogy and I loved the garth Nix abhorsen trilogy as well. Heard people class these type of novels as the steampunk/glaslight genre- set in the future/alternate future/world but where the technology is still Victorian and often people dress and act more old fashioned. I really like this idea. Does anyone have any recommendations for me? hmm hope that makes sense!!!

It's not a book, but if you haven't already seen it, watch firefly. Sounds like you'd love it.
