A glass of Heaven
on 26 December 2014
Absolutely sublime. It is fair to say I am not a stranger to champagne - but this Christmas I had Dom Perignon for the first time with the family. Yes spending over £100 for a bottle of anything is going to be out of the question for many as a point of principle. However, for those "umming and arring" over it - in the words of Nike - just do it! The best way I can describe it is as follows: when you have had other champagnes, as it flows down the pallet the initial sweetness is quickly (and often subtly) replaced with a slight acidy/bubbly aftertaste which takes away from the experience somewhat. With Dom Perignon however - no such thing happens. My family described it as velvet like in the way one drank it. There was no bitterness, no acidic after taste, in fact there was a delicious light creamy aftertaste in the pallet that was entirely enjoyable. An absolute must buy. I promise the only thing you will regret is not buying two!
