Simple to fit, good performance
on 21 January 2014
Having wanted a cheap & simple way to upgrade a PC to better 3D graphics (for things like Minecraft), I purchase this card - and have certainly not been disappointed.
Fitting was very easy - it just fits into the normal PCIe graphics slot that pretty much every modern PC has. No separate power connection was needed (unlike some of the more powerful and power-hungry cards). Then just turn back on, stop Windows trying to find the drivers, and run the installation disk. One re-boot later and you're done.
On a "Passmark Benchmark" test, it gave a very nice figure of 897. Given that the original on-board graphics struggled with 3D graphics, and that now we had some pretty smooth motion, this is a very cost-effective way of getting an upgrade - especially when you bear in mind that no power-supply upgrade was needed.
I'd recommend this for the typical game fan whose graphics is currently running too slow, but it won't overly impress the hard-core gamer. Still, you get what you pay for - and I'm very pleased.
