A little disappointed
on 21 June 2011
I bought the Longworth Full size croquet set based on the good reviews which I read about it. But was disappointed to find that contrary to one of the reviews I read, the handles are not "leather" bound but rubber. Also I had no prior knowledge of the game and understood the "full size" description to indicate that it was a full set; not knowing that the full set comprises of 9 hoops and not 6, which is all the Longworth Full Size Croquet set comprises of. The instructions are very inadequate and I would for example appreciate a diagram of all parts with a description of what they are for. Presumably the pegs are to mark the boundary but it does not actually say so. The coloured clips are to be attached to 4 of the hoops but with no explanation of why, except that the colours do correspond to the colours of the balls. I also have no idea of what the flags are to be used for. I expect all will become clear eventually and once I have located some extra hoops I will be OK about it. It does seem well made but it was not cheap so it ought to be and I also think it ought to have 9 hoops and not 6.
