Product Description

You can now experience the full benefits of having an indoor rowing machine with the Pure Fitness & Sports R800. Enjoy intense rowing sprints or endurance workouts all in the convenience of your own home with this sturdy, rugged and well manufactured home fitness machine.

It's heavy internal flywheel and sealed bearing glide rollers ensure users with an ultra-smooth back and forth rowing motion to provide effective overall body workouts. The R800 uses a quick twist tension dial to adjust 8 varying levels of magnetic resistance, having a range of difficulties can dramatically improve overall fitness levels and muscle tone, you can consistently challenge your body as it becomes familiarised to the intense work applied to the active muscle groups during rowing by increasing the tension when this happens.

The tension system operates through a magnetic adjustment design that provides frictionless interchanging of tension levels. A magnet runs parallel alongside the flywheel, as the magnet moves closer and further away the tension increases and decreases, this minimises wear and tear and allows the rower to operate smoothly over time.

The R800 provides a clear, concise readout of vital information showing the progression of your workout. Feedback from your workouts is essential for workout progression; it's also an excellent source of motivation. Not everybody has a place in their home for a 2 metre rowing machine; with that in mind the R800 has a quick fold design that reduces it to a compact 1 metre machine. It's secured safely into a place with a heavy duty lock pin for absolute safety in any home environment particularly with children. Transport wheels are also conveniently positioned at the front of the rower so you can easily move and store the rower away without breaking a sweat.

I had a good look around the market place with some really eye opening prices for a rower and decided to give this one a go. On opening the box I found it to be very well made with a minimum of parts to be put together although it would help if there are two of you to unbox it as the parts are awkward to get out. It took about 30 minutes to put it together, which was quite simple although the instructions could be a bit better for connecting the main seat bar to the wheel unit, and there was no instructions were to put the grease !! but it is best putting it on both top rail and bottom rail of seat movement rack, and use your finger to lightly grease the rails. After it was greased the seat unit moved perfectly with very little noise.

I am 105kg so when I came to fitting the foot straps I felt this could have been better quality, and easier to tighten/loosen when you sat on the unit, however this is really the only gripe I have about this rower. On exercise it was easy to use and the display kept me informed of what I was achieving. I do beleive the calorie burn count to be way wrong and if this is important to you then dont buy it.

I have used it for a few hours now and find it is achieving what I wanted the rower to do, which is basically help me exercise and lose a few pounds. I dont think it will suit the professional "Gym" person but then your not paying that sort of price that the Gym professionals use. It is better than a lot of more expensive rowers that I tried, and feel the price is pitched about right for the unit. I wanted to tighten up my stomach (Beer/Food Belly Lol) and improve my overall fitness, and felt after each 30 minute session my stomach was aching !! which pleased me as I know it is working.

You will not be dissapointed in this purchase but dont think you are buying the Rolls Royse of rowers because you are not, and I certainly expect this rower to cover 95% of my aim to get fit !!

Firstly, I'll give a bit of background on me and why I chose this rower. I'm 25, male, in fairly decent knick, and I've recently got a decent job out of uni, so I've got a bit of cash for once in my life. I go running, but want to get into a bit of upper body fitness, and I hate everything about gyms, not least as I'm quite self concious about the faces I pull when I'm exerting a lot of energy, so a rowing machine was my weapon of choice.

I'd ummed and ahhed about it for about 6 months, and finally decided on this one (not least because Amazon had been mucking around with the price of a more well known branded product in this category and price bracket, which was driving me a bit loopy), for no particular reason other than it was about what I was willing to pay and the reviews were positive. I have no prior experience of rowing machines at all. I'm writing this review because the only reason I wanted the other one was that it had more positive reviews, so I feel compelled to defend this product to make it look a bit better to people like me in future.

It was delivered the next day for free (which has nothing to do with Amazon and everything to do with PureFitness & Sports - big gold star to them). It took about 30 minutes to setup (on my own, even got it up the stairs myself) and probably could have been done a lot quicker had I not been cooking a bacon sarnie at the same time. I'm 5'11, and fully extended I barely go 2/3 of the way back, so it's plenty big enough for the taller customer. I'm using it in a very tight space, so the foldability was a big plus.

Great piece of kit. Particularly useful is the high Max Wt (150kg) so solid enough for a big lump like me. Variable settings quite sufficient for everything from a gentle warm-up to a high-intensity workout.

Like the hand pulse meter, too: a chest-belt can be quite intrusive, and the meter - easily visible while in use, though a bit silly not to connect it to the main display, it seems to me - is very useful to make sure I'm in the zone.

Dispatch & delivery were excellent, too: I ordered the beast online late on Tuesday night, received a dispatch notification Wednesday morning and it arrived Thursday lunchtime. Free delivery, too.

I'll definitely come back when I need other stuff.

Ordered the rower in the morning and it arrived the next day. First examining the box from the outside, noticed the box was opened and resealed with tape. This may indicate the sender have checked the parts before sending. All the parts were intact and almost no damaged, except a very slight dent on the handle bar censor. Contacted the seller and they sent a replacement very promptly. The assembly of the machine was simple. The machine was well designed and solid. The rowing is smooth. The heart monitor censor on the handle bar was useful. I bought this rower to replace a cheaper rower I chose earlier which turned out to be a completely waste of time. That needed returning. I would recommend this rower if you want a reasonable and not too expensive rowing machine.
