5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Dishrack 12 May 2011
This dishrack is great as you can remove the rack and clean the tray properly (unlike some of the other dishracks I've had).

5.0 out of 5 stars Dishrack Review 17 Mar 2010
The dishrack is an excellent piece of Kitchen ware especially for kitchens that do not have proper draining boards. The good thing with this model is that the drainage spout under the drainage tray can rotate 360 degrees so no problem with the water pouring out everywhere.

A reall got piece of Kitchen Equipment most people should get one :-)

4.0 out of 5 stars nice bit of kit 5 Mar 2012
looks great, ideal for smaller households with limited space. drainage spout is an excellent idea. I even wash fruit in the unit with the water draining back into the sink through the spout.helps keep your draining board clean too...an excellent product & although quite expensive well worth the money in real terms.

4.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for my sink 18 July 2013

Excellent dishrack. Really wanted one of these but cannot justify paying the fluctuating prices on various sites, so waited for Amazons price to drop below 20. In my opinion good value compared to elsewhere. If you're patient, worth waiting for when the price drops. Was going to choose silver, but decided on the white mainly because limescale stains dont show up as easily, although they are still there.

Will have to unscrew the spout mechanism to give a thorough clean to avoid accumulation of grime, but its a minor issue. Good deep size, no problem stacking dinner plates if you dont mind them lying at angle rather than straight up. Simple, scandinavian minimal look.

There's really not much to this product, it holds your dishes and doesn't leave a puddle of water behind. Easy to move when necessary and is the perfect size for me. I've not come across any problems while using it in the past few months.

    5.0 out of 5 stars Great 31 Aug 2010

I love this product. I looked at lots of reviews before buying this. I was tempted to buy another at a ridiculous price but glad I went for this one after reading the reviews. I haven't had a drainer for many years as I use my dishwasher mostly. I wanted something for the delicate glasses that I wouldn't put in the dw. It looks neat and tidy, it can hide in the sink if I want it out of the way. It's small and compact and if you have tall wine glasses, it's ideal to dry them, the high sides means that they don't fall far if you knock one over. Everything stacks well and it was worth the price tag. I can see it lasting a very long time.

    2.0 out of 5 stars Terrible. 28 Sep 2012

So I'm at a loss in the face of a plethora of positive reviews for this thing.

Yes it's compact and the draining spout is a great idea. The whole thing looks very chic and I appreciate how simple it is to remove both the rack and the utensil caddy for cleaning.

Unfortunately the spout is screwed into the base - I had hoped this would also disassemble but that's impossible without tools. Why does this matter? Because who knows what will end up growing in there if it can't be cleaned properly. Currently I'm just letting some diluted bleach run through it once a week. I run a pretty tight kitchen but mould still grows if you can't see it.

My biggest complaint is with the rack itself which simply isn't deep enough to hold my plates - and they are basic white plates from the supermarket, not something unduly heavy or fancy. Sure I can put my plates in and provided nothing touches the rack they'll be fine, but the slightest disturbance makes them fall over. The plate you see in the picture there? That's a big saucer. Trust me a plate just isn't stable in the rack. I started stacking my plates so they pointed towards an edge and then carefully resting the rest of the plates against each other so the stack was supported by the edge. A clumsy though stable solution. The upright ridges on the rack for the plates would need to be a good two inches taller to actually support a plate and I may mod something to do just that.

All in all I wouldn't recommend it. Oh, unless you only want it for bowls or glasses.

I am a fan of of Simple Human products, however, this is one their their best creation (looks great, but a couple of design issues). I would still buy one.

I hope Simple Human make an updated version of this product, as the spout is a great idea.

SPOUT DOES NOT REACH SINK BOWL
    --------------------------
Firstly, I bought this drainer, as I wanted the spout to dispense excess water directly into the sink. However, this is not possible, as one of my kitchen taps get obstructed by the Simple Human dish rack. If you intend to keep the dish rack on the sink drainer, you will very likely have this same issue. If you don't mind the water running down the sink drainer, then this is okay. However, I dislike water discharging on the sink drainer, as I want to avoid pools of water and limescale. I am going to get a small cup to catch the water. I also think it is nice to keep the drainer as far away from the bowl, to avoid water splash back...

For some householder, it will not be a problem. For instance, if your taps are in the centre of the 'bowl' not the 'sink'. Or if you have a 1.5 or 2.0 bowl sink. Or if you decide to keep the dish rack on the worktop rather then the sink drainer. You should also be okay, if you have a Belfast sink. I hope I have explained this clearly :-)

    WATER INSIDE THE DISH RACK
    --------------------------
The other minor design issue, I noticed, is that the dish rack does not drain away water. There is still a small pool of water. It is could be my sink drainer, as a slight slope and a sunshine pattern. It is not a big issue, but Simple Human should have really tested this product further.
