5.0 out of 5 stars Its all about the live atmosphere 8 Oct 2010
By Gentlegiantprog TOP 500 REVIEWER
Most Slipknot fans won't need very much convincing, a new live DVD has been released an you very probably plan t buy it, but for anyone on the fence about whether or not to get it, I highly recommend this package, on is own merits and not just out of blind dedication to the band.

`(sic)nesses,' is a pretty great package, documenting their 2009 headline performance at the UK's Download Festival in front of 80,000 excited fans. Also included is a documentary (curiously on disc one, with the concert on disc 2) from Shawn `Clown,' Crahan and all the music videos from the band's `All Hope Is Gone,' album cycle.

Performance wise, everything you expect to happen at a Slipknot concert is there, so don't expect to be disappointed in that regard. One can expect to see people hanging off things, jumping off things and throwing things at regular intervals; in addition to a spinning in mid air drum kit, Different band members fretting the notes for the guitarists, different band members hitting a keg with a baseball bat, Clown and Criss's strap-on marching drums during `The Blister Exists,' and `Psycho Social,' and of course Sid getting into the midst of everything, including the crowd whenever possible.

Without a doubt the entire concert is made on the strength of the crowds passionate reaction and that undefinable live energy that just makes the concert feel amazing. Seeing 80,000 plus people singing along to very heavy music is almost life affirming.

If you were disappointed by the band's live performances on their live album `9.

5.0 out of 5 stars excelent 27 Sep 2010
i've been to Download 2009, and i was hoping that they will release dvd of that fantastic night. As soon i found out that they will i got very excited. This dvd reminds me how good Slipknot really is, sound and picture is great. it's a fantastic show by one of the greatest band on the planet! They are so entertaining on stage, so even if you haven't been there but you like Slipknot you should get it! If you have been there you need to have it. There is a lot bonus stuff coming with it and it's good value for money! Slipknot rules!

5.0 out of 5 stars {sic}nesses ~ Live at Download 1 Oct 2010
I absolutely love this DVD.; it's the first one I've seen that has truly captured the live experience as it was on the night. If you were at Downlod 2009, then it's the best way to relive it. Of course, there's nothing quite like being there in person to witness Slipknot headlining Download but this DVD is the only thing that comes close to it. Along with the extras on the DVD (the 45 minute documentary of the tour cycle, music videos and making of 'Snuff' - almost as emotionally tough to watch as the video itself is) {sic}nesses is a beautiful tribute to Paul Gray, who sadly passed away earlier this year. He will always be missed but thanks to the fans and the band releasing this, he will NEVER be forgotten. This is for Paul, so it's absolutely a must for any Slipknot, or indeed music, fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Slipknot (sic)nesses Live at Download 2009 27 April 2012
What a night this show was, I was 1 of 80,000 maggots that were treated to quite possibly the best performance of Slipknots career. As soon as I heard that they were releasing this I went out and bought it from Amazon. The DVD contains the exceptional performance by Slipknot with great video and sound quality. Corey sounds amazing, I was disapointed at 9.0: Live because his vocals weren't great, let me tell you that corey's vocals are amazing on this live DVD.
Singing along to the intro of duality sent shivers down my spine then, and now I can relive that moment, everytime I watch this DVD. Of course, this is Paul Gray's last festival performed at the UK and what a fitting tribute it is to his early death.. R.I.P Paul
For every fan out there, if you don't own this DVD then you truely cannot call yourself a maggot...
Buy it now from Amazon, put it in the DVD player, sing as loud as you can and feel the elecric atmosphere of that night

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good! 27 Dec 2011

Slipknot have not often been on my "radar" as a bloke in his mid-fifties more switched on to prog rock, but I did buy a Slipknot album some 10 years ago and quite liked it.
Hearing my children often mentioning the group, and seeing a poster on one of my kid's walls of the group masked up, led me to this.
Very good, oh yes.....Exciting even. What a brilliant visual spectacle. Surprisingly good musicianship as well.
Enjoyed it!!!!!

if your a fan of the band then this wont dissapoint.
a Cd/DVD that simply oozes awesomeness.
i have all the official slipknot dvds, i refuse to give my money to fraudulant people.
probaally one of the best live bands on earth and this takes you right back to the mosh.
wheather you were at download or have seen them live elsewhere.
its also provides a small taste as to what they are like live, but know that they are a thousand times better in the flesh.
RIP paul gray
