There's been two Dave Robicheaux movies, but the immortal Clete Purcel hasn't appeared in either one.
My question is who can possibly depict this infamous character, possibly one of the most fascinating characters created in fiction.
If you've read any James Lee Burke novels, you would know why I ask this question.
I'd venture a younger Nick Nolte, as he's the guy I picture in my head when I read the novels. Clete is a good-hearted but still psychotic meltdown who it will be a very bad idea to mess with.
Tom Hardy? Jeremy Renner? Any suggestions?

Keren Jones says:
Tom Hardy would be my vote every time he can go from gentle quiet to violent psychopath in a heartbeat.
