As with the Tatts previous albums this absolutely Rocks. This was the bands 3rd album & for those of you that like your Rock/Metal Loud & proud this like there previous albums is a must buy. The first 5 songs absolutely Rock with the single "Its Gonna Work Itself Out" also worthy of a mention. As a previous reviewer has said there's 8 killer tracks here that you`ll be playing for years. I no because i bought this as a picture disc album when it came out & i now own the bands first 3 albums on CD & i play them regularly ! If you like early AC/DC but with more bite then buy all of the bands first 3 albums. No S**t they really are that good ! This was the bands last hurrah The record company didn`t no what they were doing & didn`t push the band in America. This meant they constantly toured every where else trying to shift the album. It put strains on the band & the pressure finally pulled them apart. There fourth album [Southern Stars ] was a bitter disappointment & the band effectively became Angry Anderson + session players. Ironically AA is most remembered for his acting role in "Mad Max 3 Beyond Thunderdome" he`s the little snarling bad guy that doesn`t say anything. [ when he dies he flips the Bird outta the wreckage of his car] But this is a reminder of a top top Hard Rockin` outfit. Don't hesitate Go Buy

This album rocks. Turn it up to 11! When I was an impressionable teenager, I had the Rose Tattoo logo put on my arm permanently on the strength of it!! Happy days....
If you like Bon Scott era AC/DC, then you have a good idea of what it is about. It is an Aussie boys drunken party album. Lets rock!!!!

Rose Tattoo were one of those hilarious, camp-metal turns that stomped to minor glory in the trenches of excess that were the convulsive 198o's . Led by a midget, Angry Anderson (chortle), this particular show eschewed the more fanciful meanderings of the likes of Twisted Sister to concentrate on getting all political wiv-da-kids, maaaaan. The results couldn't be more dim-witted and laughable.

Poor Angry, eloquent and reserved to the point of hopeless conservatism, rants hoarsly about war, poverty, self-pride...blah blah. No-one took any notice. Apart form one good song (It's Gonna Work Itself Out' - an introspective, optimistic whirlwind.), the best entertaintment to be raped from 'Scarred For Life' is the sleeve photo (I know, I know... it's a cd cover - I'm so unhip.), where Angry (real name: Gary) and his picturesque pals try desperately to look like mean, rock'n'roll outlaws, but succeed only in looking like a body-art special-supplement in an issue of 'Out' magazine. They really are rugged, lovely boys. All singing and dancing and err....activist..ing. Brothers in arms, etc.

Worst of all, 'SFL' is ho-hum, regular, everyday. . This stuff used to pass for raunch-n-roll back in less demanding times; when the likes Van Halen and Ozzy Osbourne pranced around high stages, make-up running in rivers off their sweaty, gesticulating boats with nary a hint of shame or danger. Or faculty.
Guitars fuzz, bass grumbles, drums thud, Angry Gary grunts in some kind of time. Tattoos blur in a whirling energy of non-excitement.. So is rock music flushed away by the mundanity and mincing masquerading as macho.
Angry tried, he so TRIED; he only succeeded in becoming a moronic drunk, bellowing with faux-passion; a wedding-guest cameo in 'Neighbours', and his music group owing a large artistic debt to Status Quo.
Consequently, even less people gave a toss.

I'm sure I saw Dame Angers appearing on a poster for panto in Blackpool. A fitting end.

I hate to think how old this is, but I couldn't resist buying on CD... I'd had the original on vynyl but my daughter now has that!
Right from the get go this album kicks, well, for 8 out of the 10 tracks. So for those who like their Rock a little harder than soft, this album is ideal.
Before Thrash, before Grunge, before any of the newer variants, these boys were amongst the original deviants! It's a little dated, but nostalgia always is. The thing is, they could also write melodies and play... LOUD!
The only criticism of this CD is by modern standards (compilations) it's way too short 38m 51s so just set your player to repeat and you'll get better value for money!
