Amazon's British, American & Canadian websites(and especially the British website) often engage in an absurd preorder price policy regarding some upcoming CD releases: at first Amazon sets an absurdly high price as if to say "We're not sure what the price of this disc is going to be, so, for now, we're going to set the price at two to three times the eventual selling price", hence a £39 price on an EMI/UK 2-CD set of "Deep Purple-Come Taste The Band" that will likely be £14.99 to £16.99.
And, if you think that's absurd, Amazon was initially asking £75.99 to preorder the "Duran Duran-Big Thing" 2-CD + DVD set...only to later drop it to £19.99....and even that is likely higher than the eventual selling price.
Spare us the silly extortionate "Guess-timate" prices, Amazon.
