ROTF Optimus prime
This Optimus prime is very faithful to the 07 movie Optimus who appeared on screen in terms of looks and transformation. This toy has three sound features, one is in robot mode, Optimus saying, "I am Optimus prime" two is the classic transformation sound, three is truck sounds when pressing the button on the back of the cab mode.

Autobot Leader, Optimus Prime
I'm no child but I love transformers, always have. I cant imagine the time it takes to design these incredible toys and most of em are technically brilliant and loads of fun, unfortunately I have to say I feel very let-down by this model. ROTF Optimus prime, 17 Jun 2009
Durability: Fun: Educational:
This review is from: Transformers Revenge of The Fallen Leader Optimus Prime (Toy)
Articulation is good, as you can see from the pictures, he has two blades one on each arm, they can be flipped up to be stored behind his arms thou they tend to get blocked by parts that make up his truck mode.
Transforming, this isn't for a rookie, it's pretty hard and the instructions aren't that clear because their done in 2D so they tend to be confusing, get stuck, YouTube it for help there's plenty of videos out there to help. I would rank him as a class 5 instead of Hasbro's rating system that rates legend class figures with the simplest transformations at 2, because of the complexity of his transformation
Truck mode, is only slightly larger than the 07 leader class toy but looks impressive.
I do recommend this toy for older children, for younger ones, adult help maybe required when transforming. The voice feature tends to get a little annoying during transformation due to how the head is designed to fit into vehicle mode so I recommend taking the batteries out.
Overall score 9/10 (voice gets on my nerves during transforming)

Autobot Leader, Optimus Prime, 16 July 2009
Durability: Fun: Educational:
This review is from: Transformers Revenge of The Fallen Leader Optimus Prime (Toy)
I'm no child but I love transformers, always have. I cant imagine the time it takes to design these incredible toys and most of em are technically brilliant and loads of fun, unfortunately I have to say I feel very let-down by this model. In robot mode, its excellent, truly excellent. Very pose-able and I guess it looks authentic. As a Truck, Its also very very nice indeed. The light and sounds are a nice extra which do add to the experience, But! Transforming it was an absolutely horrendous experience. The instructions given with transformers are never very clear but for this one I just gave up and tried to work it out myself which was a nightmare. For some reason some of the parts don't properly fit giving a springy feel, tucking the head into the engine compartment just didn't seem to work and I felt like I was constantly gonna break it. My 2 stars don't relate to the toy in general but the fact that it is supposed to be a transformer and transforming it is not something a child would be able to do without considerable help, put it this way, like I said I'm no child and have loads of these stored away in various boxes so I'm not new to the toys but its just taken me 4 hours (including breaks for coffee and periodic swearing) to convert it from the default robot form to the truck. Just be careful if you're buying it for a child. The box states ages 5+ but i would suggest the minimum age for this would be teenager and a very patient one at that.

Best Transformers figure ever, 17 July 2009
Durability: Fun: Educational:
This review is from: Transformers Revenge of The Fallen Leader Optimus Prime (Toy)
Seems despite the figure from the first movie being pretty damn good, even Hasbro themselves felt like they could do better the second time round and they were right. I can't believe how much improved in accuracy this figure is. It's slightly bigger too and more posable with much less truck parts hanging off his back. Just overall much tidier and looks great. The truck mode too is an improvement looking far more seamless and even has the back of the truck done too.
Transformation to truck form is a little complex and there was only one bit I struggled with but I soon got the hang of it and have no problem whatsoever.
Lights and sounds are fun and it's nice to see his proper voice announce his name in robot form. Another great feature is that the figure combines with Leader Class Jetfire where Jetfire sorta becomes body armor/jetpak to Prime and makes the figure even more huge.
This is simply the most impressed I've ever been with a Transformers figure and it's worth every penny I paid.
Oh yeah, ignore the photo of the figure at the top. Hasbro's figure photography once again making the figure look far worse than it is and mistransformed.
The only things better on the 2007 model are that it had articulated fingers and rubber tyres. Everything else is far far better on this figure and it's easily by far the best Transformers figure I've owned since the series began in the 80's.

transformers, 29 Jun 2010
Durability: Fun: Educational:
This review is from: Transformers Revenge of The Fallen Leader Optimus Prime (Toy)
I purchased this for my grandson who is mad on transformers, he is coming up to 4 and is not able to transform it himself so needs help. I think the age is 5 and over but I feel a 5year old would still have a bit of a problem transforming it, however my grandson plays for hours with his transformers and i would recommend these toys

Best Prime toy ever!, 25 Jun 2010
Durability: Fun: Educational:
This review is from: Transformers Revenge of The Fallen Leader Optimus Prime (Toy)
This is one of the best Transformer toys of all time, but it is only for serious collectors and not very good for kids because the transformation is very complex.
It says ages 3 and up on the box, but i dont know how anyone under the age of 12 can transform one of these things unsupervised.
That said it is a perfect rendition of movie Optimus Prime, and one of the most accurate toys ever made.
The paint apps are a bit lacking, but theres no lack of detail and cool gimmicks on the toy, and the accuracy is second to none.
Just ignore the photos on here with the black background uploaded by Donnie B Donnie because that isnt the toy you are getting. Those are misleading photos of a poorly done "custom" job.

Nigh perfection, 7 Jun 2010
Durability: Fun: Educational:
This review is from: Transformers Revenge of The Fallen Leader Optimus Prime (Toy)
Leader Prime is by far the best and one of most complex transformers I have ever owned (comes second only to Transformers Masterpiece Optimus Prime / Convoy With Trailer - MP-04), and with that factored in, it may not be the best toy for a small child.
Despite (or because of) the above, he is an absolute fun puzzle when first transformed (definitely doable without the manual, and contrary to what others say it doesn't take hours to figure out) and a brilliant toy once you figure it out. Highly posable, and fairly movie accurate, and at £25 a real steal! His only flaw (and the reason he didn't get 5 stars) is that he lacks the gun Transformers Revenge Of The Fallen (Japanese) RA-24 Leader Buster Optimus Prime has.

Looks great but very complicated to transform, 8 Jan 2010
Durability: Fun: Educational:
This review is from: Transformers Revenge of The Fallen Leader Optimus Prime (Toy)
I bought this for my nephew who is 6 as it said it was for ages 5 and up. He loves it in both modes but the problem is he will never be able to transform it on his own. It took 2 men (aged 30 and 27) 3 hours to transform it the first time in a joint effort. I believe that now that has come down to 45 mins. However that is still far too complicated for a younger child. I am also worried that it will not stand up to rougher handling as there are lots of small parts that look as if they might snap off. But time will tell.

Great Figure but extremely hard!, 12 Aug 2009
Durability: Fun: Educational:
This review is from: Transformers Revenge of The Fallen Leader Optimus Prime (Toy)
Just by looking at this toy you can tell it's an impressive piece of work. It has to be one of the most accurate toys based on the movies that you can get and it has its good and bad points.
The good points would be it's looks which is extremely detailed and flexible. It's also got some great sounds and lights aswell as a cool looking vehicle mode.
Now onto the bad stuff. I love transformers, I'm a big kid (23) and I found the transformation extremely frustrating. This is because the amount of detail. As you can see there are alot of little bits on Prime, which means alot of fiddling and moving parts. Unfortunatly it's made even more difficult by the fact it doesn't ever stay in place until everything is snapped into place. Some parts dont fit properly and the instructions suck... for a lack of better words.
But don't get me wrong the Model in both forms looks excellent and it's worth having. The problem is this is a toy and no parent would give their kids this as it'd be broken due to frustration in no time. It's more of an adult collectors item to be honest.

Don't give this to a child, 26 Dec 2009
Durability: Fun: Educational:
This review is from: Transformers Revenge of The Fallen Leader Optimus Prime (Toy)
This item is shown as being for five years and above. It took three grown men one a trained engineer over an hour to convert it from robot to lorry and the same to change back again. No child under 14 would ever be able to do it. Also it says that some parts may be detachable but the cab window keeps falling off.
