5.0 out of 5 stars LG 7700 32 LCD TV
Brilliant picture and sound,I wanted built in Freesat and having researched the various makes that had Freesat built in I decided that the LG model was the best value for money, and it does not disapoint!. The various options for picture and sound are very good and work well. HD programmes are unbelievably detailed on this screen. One thing I was concerned about was...

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice telly, shame you can't record!
TV is fine, good picture, sound OK but apparently it has no output so I can't hook it up to my DVD recorder. The other thing is there is no SKY remote code, I Emailed LG and they sent me 3 different codes, none of which worked, I think this gives me a clue about their 'customer care'. Also I can't spot the HD difference but I don't think I'm alone in that. But apart from...

5.0 out of 5 stars LG 7700 32 LCD TV, 31 Aug 2009

Brilliant picture and sound,I wanted built in Freesat and having researched the various makes that had Freesat built in I decided that the LG model was the best value for money, and it does not disapoint!. The various options for picture and sound are very good and work well. HD programmes are unbelievably detailed on this screen. One thing I was concerned about was output from the TV to my DVD recorder, this is the only let down as far as I am concerned as the TV has to be on to record to a DVD/VCR and also the channel you want to record also has to be on, this means that you cannot watch another channel whilst recording. This aside I have no regrets in purchasing this model. Well done LG!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent TV worth the money,, 14 Dec 2009

This review is from: LG 32LF7700 32-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p LCD TV with Freeview/Freesat - Installation Recommended - Black/Grey (Electronics)
This is the first time I have reviewed a product on here,

I was originally off put by some of the reviews regarding its compatability with the PS3, It almost made me choose a different TV,

However I decided to go with it, PS3 works absoultley perfectly on my TV with a regular Bush HDMI cable I purchased, Blu ray and games are perfect and no probs with the menu screens,

Installation, Very easy to do, I switched it on with ariels and LNB cable connected, it scanned for all the freeview and Freesat channels available,

Sound, Very good quality,

Freesat, I had a dish already from old sky subscription I used to have, so I just connected the wire and let the TV scan for freesat channels, It will also scan for other non freesat channels that are FTA,

HD,
BBC HD looks amazing, ITV HD also looks amazing, it is a shame there are not more HD channels on Freesat yet, There is also a channel called Luxe HD which is more of an advertising channel but again excellent quality,

I love the tv, and have had no problems at all with it,

I would recommend it

4.0 out of 5 stars Convenient FreeSat TV, 20 Dec 2009
By AW (UK) - See all my reviews
This review is from: LG 32LF7700 32-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p LCD TV with Freeview/Freesat - Installation Recommended - Black/Grey (Electronics)
LG is one of only 2 manufacturers that currently market HD TVs with built-in FreeSat, the other being Panasonic which costs about twice as much (prices for the LG vary considerably, so shop around - Amazon was the cheapest when I bought mine). The picture quality of this HD TV is not as good as my Sony LCD, but is acceptable. The on-screen Electronic Programme Guide is quite sluggish to scroll between channels which can be frustrating as you're often not sure whether you've pushed the button hard firmly enough or if the TV is just thinking about your 'request'. However, I feel that the TV is good value for money compared with the Panasonic equivalent, and it's certainly convenient not to have to buy a separate satellite receiver. As more FreeSat TVs enter the market, LG will have to up their game a bit to compete. I haven't used the TV with PS3, so can't comment on the compatibility issues mentioned by other reviewers. Promptly delivered from Amazon as ever.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great TV, good looks, questionable sound, 1 Jan 2010

This TV is excellent value for money and had a really vibrant and high contrast picture. I'm dependant on satelite for receiving a signal and found that the Freesat is very good and easy to set up. Movies look great and HD content is crystal clear. Having read reviews I wasn't sure whether the picture brightness may jump around but I've not seen any of this happenning so am extremely happy with the picture quality.

Connectivity is great too, with the USB allowing me to see photos (again, amazing picture clarity from my Nikon D40 photos) and will connect using ethernet cable when iplayer is released on freesat.

The one drawback I would say is the sound quality from the built in speakers. I put DVDs etc through my sound system so this doesn't bother me but if you are depending on your TV to deliver good base and an all round full sound then I'd look elsewhere, if not then I'd highly recommend this TV.

This telly seems to be fine for what I want it to do, which is mostly to watch programmes recorded on a Humax freesat box. The fact that the tv has its own freesat tuner means I should be able to watch one channel while recording two others (when I connect a third cable to the LNB on the dish). It set itself up with no problems when connected to the newly installed Sky dish. The users manual is informative and sufficient. I have not bothered with the CD that comes with it. Amazon's delivery service was good, as always. One small niggle is the buttons on the remote. They are a bit small, but I'll get used to that, I am sure. So... a satisfied customer.

4.0 out of 5 stars the best hd plug in and play experience for the money, 29 Jan 2010
This review is from: LG 32LF7700 32-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p LCD TV with Freeview/Freesat - Installation Recommended - Black/Grey (Electronics)
A very good tv that is one of the few that you can connect and watch HD TV out of the box. It is true full hd ready unlike the marketing cons used to sell half resolution HD tv's or tv's with the potential to view HD only if you buy an extra box.
The picture is excellent, it is easy to use, has a good user interface, it is quick to set up if you already have a dish that is pointing to the sky (astra 2). The surprise is that it already has the technology built in to watch BBC i-player. I am told it will be enabled by the next software update that automatically downloads from freesat when available. Another thing it can do is play back mp3's and jpegs from usb memory sticks. Lets hope they will also enable movie playback from usb with a software update as it is not able to at the moment. It has three different tuners that can easily be switched between. It has traditional tv that is being phased out, it has digital freeview which is it is replacing and it has a freesat hd tuner. One of the scart sockets has a two way function so you can plug in older recorders and record what is being shown on the tv so it is possible to keep the older equipment alive a bit longer after the digital switch over. Also using the screen to connect to the computer is great with very good resolution.
Now the downside. When switching on the tv for the first time you will have to chose which country, this will then lock some of the settings and functions. choosing uk will lock you into using only astra 2 so if you have a multi Lnb set up astra 2 is all you will be able to receive. I do not know if choosing "other" as the country will get round this limitation and allow the reception of others such as astra1 or hotbird. I was hoping this tv would allow me to get rid of the extra sat box. Also there are many other hd channels on the other sats. Another let down is there is a cam slot
that can be used for on demand tv, but it is only enabled for use with the freeview tuner so you can not use your sat cards in it. It is a real shame as all the components are there it just needs to be enabled in a software update. What could have been a truly great tv has been let down by some of the functions being crippled in the uk. It is still a very good tv and at the amazon price is a good bit of kit for the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars LG 32LF7700 Television, 30 Jan 2010
This review is from: LG 32LF7700 32-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p LCD TV with Freeview/Freesat - Installation Recommended - Black/Grey (Electronics)
An excellent TV with a very clear HD picture and benefitting from an inbuilt Freesat decoder. Simply plugged in my old Sky satellite connection, followed the simple, on-screen set-up instructions and there was a freesat picture on all the channels within seconds. Very impressed with picture and sound output and very pleased with the array of different input options (3 x HDMI, USB, SCART, CI and other Audio/video input options.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Full HD TV for XBOX 360 & SKY+HD remote code 1206, 16 Feb 2010

This is a simple tv to set up. If you have sky then it is just a case of running an extra satellite cable from a spare lnb connection on your dish to the back of the tv. In my case I needed a new lnb as I had no spare points but an octo lnb only set me back £18 on Amazon and £15.99 for 25m of cable. It is a diy job if you are happy using a drill and climbing up ladders. With the freesat I can now watch excellent tv reception (on freesat) and record two programs on skyHD at the same time! The sky remote code is 1206 - I could not find myself but when I upgraded to skyHD the engineer set it up. Freesat HD only really has BBCHD and ITV on the red button for one or two programs a day. Maybe more will come along. The xbox 360 is great with the HDMI input. I feed the sound out of the tv via the optical out to my home cinema surround sound and it is great- the sound from the tv on its own is also brilliant. The only con I have is that I have a wireless set of headphones and if I plug the sender into the tv I get a lot of hiss. This does not happen when I put wired headphones in nor if I plug the sender into the home cinema!I don't really use freeview via the aerial nor analogue since I live in a poor signal area though I have noticed that the freeview gives better reception than a separate box that I used to have. ie I get more channels and less drop out. It is just not necessary with freesat. The tv has a proper on off button on the front which is not easy to spot according to my wife, but at least it does not have to be left in standby. I have tried the usb and it is fine for photos but I do not think it has the capability for playing movies from usb. Then again they can be streamed from the xbox.
All in all a great purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works perfectly and easy to set up, 31 Dec 2009
This review is from: LG 32LF7700 32-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p LCD TV with Freeview/Freesat - Installation Recommended - Black/Grey (Electronics)
The TV was delivered swiftly, with a telephone call to ensure we were here to collect it. I plugged it into the wire that had been Sky years ago and it has worked quickly and well. Slight problems matching the colours I want on screen would be the only criticism I could make

5.0 out of 5 stars Best quality picture, 9 Dec 2009
This review is from: LG 32LF7700 32-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p LCD TV with Freeview/Freesat - Installation Recommended - Black/Grey (Electronics)
I had looked at this product in Curry's so I was familiar with the spec. I ordered online with Amazon and delivery was fast (2 days), efficient and a much better price . I fitted the same day and I am delighted with the TV. The picture is brilliant. The only slight problem was that the mounting screws were too long for my wall bracket so I had to cut them down and the mounting sockets set in the back of the TV seem a little flimsy but other than that "perfect"
