I had problems with pigeons eating expensive sunflower kernels intended for our visiting goldfinches, they were also scaring them away! This feeder has solved the problem and with the added bonus of catching seed at the bottom which means less mess and less expense. We now have goldfinches, greenfinches and great and blue tits visiting in inner city Birmingham! Brilliant...

Items were promptly provided and well packed. I hung one with a nut feeder and one with a seed feeder. All was going well until I noticed this squirrel actually inside the protector!

I had problems with Starlings stripping my feeder bare in about an hour. The solution was to purchase this Tube Sanctuary,Meripac "Choice" Tube Sanctuary, and although I now get the occasional Starling, (which is of course acceptable), they can't get right up to the food and only stay for as long as they can hang on to the "Sanctuary".
Don't know about Squirrels as we don't have any around us, but I'm sure if the "Sanctuary" was set up right it would work fine.
I can highly recommend Lamp-Post Pet Supplies. They were prompt with the delivery and helpful and courtious when I had a query about the purchase.

This sanctuary feeder was much bigger than expected. The adjustable "cage" is helpful. We have a ground sanctuary feeder, the same principle, and it works well in the winter when we use it most. The odd starling got in the ground feeder and had to be rescued to get out. I feed all the pigeons and doves, and they eat the seeds that drop down, so felt we needed something to retain the specialized food we get for the smaller birds. This works just fine for us. And although we live in rural Wales, have no squirels, so cannot say much about that!
