Very effective in wet mode
This is my first ever wet epilator and it works very well when used with foam and is less painful than my old Braun device. The only downside is that it makes the skin on the legs very dry, but this is probably due to a prolonged exposure to the shower gel and is easily corrected with a moisturiser. The small head is very easy to use underarm where I wouldn't dare to use...

Pro's and con's :o( :o)
This is my second epilator. Before I had the Braun silk epil, which i loved and still works great, but the reason I wanted this one was for the wet/dry use and the the cordless feature. I wont lie, it's not as good as my Braun, but is better in some ways.
The 3 heads are better for speed, I can now do my legs in half the time because before I found I was...

Very effective in wet mode, 7 Mar 2009
This is my first ever wet epilator and it works very well when used with foam and is less painful than my old Braun device. The only downside is that it makes the skin on the legs very dry, but this is probably due to a prolonged exposure to the shower gel and is easily corrected with a moisturiser. The small head is very easy to use underarm where I wouldn't dare to use my previous (dry) epilator. A criss-cross motion seems to be the most effective here.
Overall, a good little gadget and finally some alternative to Braun.

A must have for all women!, 7 Jun 2009
I had read a review for this epilator while on holiday and came home determined to buy it. I am so pleased that I came across that original review, as its by far the best electrical item I have ever bought! It impressed me so much I also bought one for my daughter, now she is also singing its praises. When you first use it you do have to put up with a certain amount of pain BUT use it again and its improves every time. I would suggest using it with a soapy product, as the makers suggest, but I found I could then use it dry and now do this every time. I am working on the other areas such as under arm and bikini line but don't feel it will be too long before that is as easy to do. Reasonably priced as I no longer have to buy expensive blades, shave gel or lady shaver. Nor suffer the cuts which are inevitable all over the bony parts of my legs, ankles etc.
So as long as you persevere and get through the pain barrier you too will love this product!

THE BEST I HAVE USED., 31 Dec 2008
This is approximately the fourth epilator I have had and by far the best for legs.
This is the first wet epilator I have tried and it certainly seems kinder and more efficient.
The sensitive area head I have used on my underarms. I found it rather time consuming as it is only about a centimetre wide. It has also left quite a few hairs but I think this was because I had not epilated but shaved there recently. I think using it a 'little and often' will make for better results.
I am rather surprised how much water gets between the different heads and the power unit. I don't even use it under the shower!
Cleaning is best done by rinsing it under a running tap, leaving it to dry and then using the little brush.
Overall a good investment.

comparing with braun silk epil, 23 Nov 2009
hi all, i have recently purchased this. i have a quite thick hair and a lot of it, so take note of this when reading this for yourself. here is my comparison with braun 5270 silk-épil X'elle epilator:
much smoother skin after epilation, no red dots or irritation, great advantage of using in the shower. epilating in the shower is slightly less painful than epilating dry with my old epilator. so, i can't say it's no pain at all, but i also wouldnt expect this from any of these. you do have to go over the same spot several times and after all you might find that some odd hairs are left after anyway, this might not be the case when using dry. overall i would recommend this over something like silk epil and it's definately works great for me.

less pain, 31 Jan 2010
i ordered this epilator one day before the new year which was a friday, so i expected to not receive it till the next friday, because of holidays, and the bad weather, but i was really happy to receive it early morning monday. so it was my 1st good surprise of 2010. i was happy to see that even short hairs go with it, the pain is much more less than my old braun epilator! even in dry mode!
it was amazing knowing that i can clean it with liquid soap and water, and it was 100% clean after each use, like the day that i receive it!
i tried it several times under shower, it's less pain than any other epilator! but it doesn't mean that it will take all the hairs, because under water you wouldnt be able to see all hairs, so i had to do some final touches in dry use!
any way for a better result, i have to use it once a week!
for the bikini epilator, i do like it a lot, i use it for under arms too, and it was the 1st time that i use epilator in these areas, i'm using it even for some hairs that i have under my chin :) "quicker than waxing it, and without any mirror"
the negative point of this epilator that you cant use it when it's plugged in! you have to wait till it charges then you can use it! but as it's says in the product's descriptions, once it charges, you can use it for a quite long time, i do use it for under arms, bikini, and legs with the final touches!!!
another positive point, that i do have some hairs which grown up under the skin, but with those small massages that it gives to the skin, it could get even those hairs! amazing! even that i had to go several times on the same area for a softer result!
so i'm happy with my purchase!

Pro's and con's :o( :o), 8 Jan 2010
This is my second epilator. Before I had the Braun silk epil, which i loved and still works great, but the reason I wanted this one was for the wet/dry use and the the cordless feature. I wont lie, it's not as good as my Braun, but is better in some ways.
The 3 heads are better for speed, I can now do my legs in half the time because before I found I was having to go over the same spot in different directions to get all the hairs which was time consuming, now it gets them all in one go, although its not as good over the knee area as a single head is with it being larger.
Using it in the shower is great but again is not as precise, i found i had missed alot of hairs when I used it in the shower.
I also use my epilator for under arm, and to be honest again its not as precise as my Braun, but I think this is because the tweezers seem more covered and not as close to your skin as they are on my Braun, but saying that I have had some bad skin nic's with Braun so I guess its safer.
Sorry if this review is a bit conflicting, basically I would say if you are a first time epilaor user and a little scared of the pain, then this is perfect for you. If you are an experience epilator user then you may not like it. The speed I can now do my leg's in satisfactory, is the reason that made me keep it!

super gentle and great in wet mode, but there's always a price to pay!, 2 Dec 2009
I love this epilator, it's my second and is so much more gentle then the other I have (a braun silk epil).
Taking it into the shower means that its a hell of a lot less painful and you don't have to get hair everywhere and then hoover. It also means the skin if softer and it's not quite so traumatic for it.
I find it does take a little longer then the braun simply because you can't target one single hair because the spinning discs are going in all the different directions and you have very little idea if they're gonna pluck what you're after... Saying that it's very easily solved by using the smaller more accurate attachment and tageting the stragglers.
By far the LEAST painful epilator out there (although it's still an epilator, don't expect it to be painless...)

Brilliant epilator, 10 Nov 2009
Have been epilating for a few years now, but this is a great innovation. The three heads make light work of hairs in any direction, and being able to rinse out under the tap is great. Excellent piece of equipment.

Love it, 4 Sep 2009
This is easy to use and does what it says on the tin, though it takes several goes over the same spot to pick up all the stragglers. Have used it on my legs only and I love it!

waste of money, 4 Mar 2010
This is completely useless. I only use epilators on my underarms and I had to go over and over and over the same area and then eventually give up and go back to my old faulty epilator to finish the job! I don't know how anyone using it on larger areas would have the patience to do it. The specific head for use on underarms and bikini are even worse as the tweezer area is tiny. The main head repeatedly pinched my skin, which has never happened with any other epilator that I have had and I have been using epilators for years. Don't waste your money.
