super sucker
This is the most powerful machine Dyson have ever produced. It is a very good machine but you must clean the filters regularly. Every 3-4 months in normal use, up to every week when sanding walls, decorating/DIY etc. This machine is a bargain now as it is an older model and it's price is reduced, but there is a limited range. Dissapointing
Bought one of these a few years ago and it lasted about 2 years. Very fine particles caused a massive drop in suction power (cleaning filters didn't help at all). Our main hose split and the small tool for cleaning upholstry broke.
I was dissapointed in the build quailty of such an expensive vacuum.

This is the most powerful machine Dyson have ever produced. It is a very good machine but you must clean the filters regularly. This model can only used on carpets, if you want a Dyson to use on hard floors then you need to choose again.

We've had our DC07 4 months now and have been very impressed with it. The one time it blocked it was easy to dis-assemble the various parts to get at the entire suction route. It is well designed and easy to use. I was dubious of Dysons because everytime I went to my local tip there were loads of them dumped. I think if you stick to the original basic models without anything fancy you won't go far wrong. The DC07 is such a model.

Very impressed so far. Sucks up dirt, dust and fluff with ease, -and with transparent dust canister it is is to see when it needs emptying.
Extension hose extends to an impressive 6'+ and when used with the aluminium lance reaches at least 8'. Has plenty of suction, so much so that the extension hose tries to retract in use -actually have to prise some of the tools of the carpet and use some muscle to move them.
Bad points. Noisy, even though motor rated at only 1400W I find noise is just above comfortable level.
Extension hose and lance form the pushing handle for normal vacuuming. So unless you do your cleaning in the right order you spend a lot of time assembling/reassembling the handle and hose.
Quite bulky and heavy.

This is indeed a bit of a beast!
This is perfect around the house on carpeted floors, and as with all (or at least, most) Dysons, you can see all the dust and rubbish that you're sucking up!
I have had a Dyson before and it was a bit tricky to get the rubbish cylinder off, but with the DCO7 it's dead easy. You just press a button and the whole front comes off. You can then take it outside to the bin without getting dust everywhere.
The filters are lifetime ones so you never have to replace them. I must admit that I rarely clean the filters, but it still works well. Once the filters are cleaned, you can notice a difference if it's been a while since they were last washed.
Plus - this is a good looking piece of kit; it's nice and high for us tall folks. It isn't designed for laminate or lino, it might scratch it, but it works great on carpet.

The DC-07 is an exceptionally fine vacuum cleaner! The classic before and after test, ie. Vac with your old "bagged" Hoover, Electrolux etc. "clearly" reveal the massively enhanced efficacy of the Dyson which will indeed be full of dirt/dust that your old machine left behind. The supplied tools and accessories are of great asset value though one has to learn how to use them correctly, when using tools on the end of the extending hose it's best to remember to manage the hose by holding it between tool and machine to avoid the machine itself from being driven into you by the force of the suction! Yes it's that strong!
I do feel however that the claim of "no loss of suction" is a little misleading, what prompted me to write this review was the arrival of a new "lifetime" filter from Amazon. Upon instillation and use I was reminded of my first experience of this vacuum cleaner, it really sucked so well again! Now, these "lifetime" filters are a sponge type of thing that may appear insignificant but they are in fact pivotal to the performance of the machine. They are washable in cold water and you will be horrified by the color of the water! Dyson recommend that these are washed every six months but I would recommend washing or changing at least every month. The filters themselves should last for ages but it is handy to have a spare as they take 24 hours to dry.
All in all a great product which will become a British design icon, though I believe manufacturing has now sadly been transferred from Bath UK to the East.

I have been the owner of 3 Dysons now, and the only reason i have replaced the current one with the Origin is because the cost of getting the old one repaired was nearly as much as what I paid for the Origin.
I have been extremely pleased as it does the job expected of it very well. Yes, it is slightly heavy but all nearly all upright Dysons are. I use it on carpets and on on my kitchen floor which is covered with lino. I know it is not designed to be used on hard surfaces but it actually does a good job at picking up grime.It has not the got the thrills that other Dyson models have but for the price, I feel it is excellent value for money.

The DC07 vacuum cleaner has reduced in price to a level that makes it more affordable, and this entry level model shares the same suction power as other models in the Dyson range (even those costing much more). The cleaning power is amazing and despite having vacuumed my house regularly in the past the amount of dirt this cleaner has lifted is incredible (almost to the point of embarassment). Also, the carpet pile feels so much nicer after it has been cleaned by the DC07 - it is somehow softer underfoot.
In terms of setup and ergonomics it is fine, yes, it is a little heavy but no more so than other cleaners I have used. Also, despite the fact this is an upright model it incorporates the versatility of cylinder style vacuum too in that it has a flexible hose that cleverly forms part of the upright handle and which can easily be deployed to clean upholstery etc. It also comes with some tools for which there is storage on the cleaner. If your home has hard floors then I'd recommend you buy the Dyson hard floor tool (available from Amazon for around £20.00). The emptying of the dust collector is simplicity itself, as is removal of the washable lifetime filters.
This is a well made, very good value for money product that performs superbly and is therefore unreservedly recommended - buy it with confidence.

We replaced a Dyson DC01 with this as it seems very good value. I think it is a good upgrade from the old one with better filters and tools storage. The suction is excellent and the tools work well, even removing dog hair from the carpet. The only down side is that it is fairly bulky.

Compared to the DC01 this machine is so powerful - it filled up with muck so quickly after I had just done it with the DC01. However - it's so powerful that it is hard to push on shorter pile carpets. Bargain at the moment - much better value than the DC14

Very impressed with the power of the "new" Dyson DC07 which I recently purchased after several years of satisfactory use with a Dyson DC04.
The vacuum power is much improved and with current lower price and 5 year parts and labour warranty is very attractive.
On the down side it is a relatively heavy machine so to lug up and down stairs would be hard work, luckily live in a bungalow!, and also find it a bit noisier than the DC04- more power? which can annoy after a long session. On the whole however the product can be thoroughly recommended but the user instructions are abysmal!, I know they are supposed to be self-explanatory with pictures but clarity, readability and general understanding leaves a lot to be desired, the only main down side.
