4.0 out of 5 stars a cute clipper
I bought this mower in the summer of 2005, just moving to a small garden. It does a great job and is so easy to use. I can lift it with one hand and hang it on the shed wall when not in use. Very long grass needs two rounds, with the blades set high to start with - but this is standard practice anyway for mowing lawns. The grass collector is of course small - but then it...

3.0 out of 5 stars good but one little problem
bought this mower a couple of years ago.no problems untill till the bearing burnt out on the top of the motor assembly.only wish the bearing carrier was made out of metal not plastic.
overall though i may buy it again as it does an excellent job of cutting my grass.

Very long grass needs two rounds, with the blades set high to start with - but this is standard practice anyway for mowing lawns. The grass collector is of course small - but then it is still eminently portable when full! A great find for the small lawn

4.0 out of 5 stars Good product for the small or medium lawn, 23 Jun 2006
This review is from: Qualcast Easi-Trak 320 32cm Electric Rotary Lawn Mower (DIY & Tools)
I bought this on the basis of the other four star reviews here. They're correct in every regard. Easy to assemble, lightweight (easily carried with one hand) and it cuts the lawn well enough. I wouldn't want to be mowing a large lawn with it because it isn't self propelled and it has a small presence or footprint. But if you have a small to medium lawn then this is the mower for you.

I had hoped that it would also pick up the privet hedge clippings I hadn't managed to rake up and sure enough it got all those as well as the grass clippings. This suggests that you could mow the lawn and get the leaves in the autumn, which is nice.

If it has a vice its that small clippings of grass blow out the sides of the grass box making a brush up of the surrounding pathways a final job when you've done the lawn.

I haven't tried any other mowers so a fifth star would be unsafe.

5.0 out of 5 stars No nonsense, does what it says on the tin, 9 Feb 2008
This review is from: Qualcast Easi-Trak 320 32cm Electric Rotary Lawn Mower (DIY & Tools)
I've had this mower for a year now and can say this is a no nonsense mower that does the job and does it well. Excellent build quality, simple but efficient design and very lightweight. Ideal for small to medium sized lawns.

Pros:
- Very simple to put together
Took 5 minutes or less to assemble. Can't remember thinking twice about putting it together now when we got it.

- Very lightweight
Easy to carry around to and from the garage to the lawns. Carries easily with just one hand.

- Easily adjustable height
Easy to adjust height of blade, has a notch system to adjust to 3 different height settings. Only really use one to be fair :)

- Simple but efficient design
Probably the most important feature about this mower is the lack of features! There's not a lot to go wrong with this mower because the design is so simple which is a good thing if you're not using the mower every single day and don't need x number of bells and whistles. At the same time the design is excellent, it just does the job and does it very well.

- Easily replaceable blade
There's just one rotary blade underneath that can be replaced easily if it gets blunted or whatever.

- Easy to remove grass collection box
The box fits onto the mower by lifting a spring-loaded flap at the back and hooking the box onto the mower and the flap acts to hold the box down on the hooks to stop it bouncing off. Very sturdy.

Cons:
- Not suitable for large lawns
The footprint on this mower is quite small - maybe 2ft or less(?). As a result I wouldn't want to use this mower on a lawn over 50sq metres.

- Lack of features
As I said above the lack of features on this mower makes it great in my opinion, however for some this could be a down side. If you do want xyz features then this isn't the mower for you, it's a very simple but effective design but won't make the coffee for you :)

- Slightly 'cheap' look to it
Thought twice about mentioning this - by 'cheap' I mean the main body is made of plastic which kind of gives it a cheap look to it. However having said this the build quality itself isn't 'cheap', design seems very well thought out as mentioned above. If you want to keep your mower on display to show your mowing prowess or have the need to 'keep up with the jones', maybe go for something else :)

In summary - if you don't want a lot of features and just want a mower that does the job well, this is for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Brilliant Mower!, 30 July 2007
This review is from: Qualcast Easi-Trak 320 32cm Electric Rotary Lawn Mower (DIY & Tools)
If you are wondering what light-weight mower to purchase - look no further. This really is an incredible machine. Mowing the lawn was a chore before I purchased this mower, I needed a light-weight mower because all my others had been just too heavy, so I tended to leave the lawn until it was an unforbidding job, not any more, no more struggling up and down the lawn, no more aching limbs, just a walk around the lawn with the Easi-Trak for a perfect, neat, well manicured lawn.
Definately the best mower I have ever used!

4.0 out of 5 stars lightweight mower makes work easy, 4 Jun 2006

I can carry the mower through the house to the front garden with one hand while I unlock/open doors with the other! In use the mower is easy to push, being about 7kg apparently. Doesn't do stripes, but I don't care in the least!

The motor seems more than adequate - instant speed and enough power. A well designed product: height adjustment is by a simple spring and notch mechanism that's cut costs, and the handle folds very easily with chunky captive bolts you can't lose. the big handle in the middle makes it easy to carry the mower.

The grass box is small (has to be so that it doesn't tip the light mower backwards) and the cable is captive and short. I can change that however, so I'm happy.

We have just bought this lawnmower based on the previous reviews as our hover mower had burnt out and WOW what a difference! Lightweight, easy to assemble, easy to use, no grass flying everywhere, what more can one say! Our lawn looks the best it has done all season! Thanks to previous reviews we have made a wonderful purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cracking mower at a bargain price., 9 July 2007

This review is from: Qualcast Easi-Trak 320 32cm Electric Rotary Lawn Mower (DIY & Tools)
Owned this mower for a couple of weeks now and am very impressed. I bought it to replace a cylinder mower which did an adequate job but not as good as this one (used to miss the long straggly bits). My grass has never looked better and this machine is so light and easy to use I find cutting the lawns a lot less of a chore. Grass collection system is very efficient and leaves no mess, the motor feels powerful from the start, grassbox and height adjustment of cut both very easy to use. I bought this mower on reviews from other amazon customers and am glad I did. Great value for money at less than £60. delivered and it's made in Britain!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Very Good, 27 May 2007

As we have a field rather than a lawn (that is, it is bumpy, a bit weedy, and has the odd rabbit hole), it has always been difficult to make it look reasonable. An old - heavy - electric mower proved ok but was not strong enough. A new - very heavy - petrol mower kept cutting out on the bumps, and was always difficult to restart because of the string-pull-herculean-strength thingy. This mower is the BEST, light, fast, even on slightly damp grass, eats everything!!! Now, for the first time, visitors commented on how good the garden looks and asked if we had treated the lawn with something. Highly recommended, especially as hardly anyone has a more difficult (rural!) garden than ours!! also good price, excellent fast delivery. Thanks.

A combination of the Lawn Expert book, Amazon reviews (thank you people) and Qualcast's excellent website led me to this unit.

For 4 years I've been wrestling a 'hova' over 3 x 25m square ('small' according to Qualcast!) split-level lawns. The difference using using this little mower has been a revelation, its a virtual mini powerhouse.

The cutting is incredibly accurate, in fact I'd stick my neck out and say its impossible to tell the result apart from neighbouring cylinder cut lawns. Height adjustments effective and accurate. Rotaray blade does does not spray grass everywhere on spin-up/down, moulded handle makes the unit easy to transport (take note Flymo!!) and the wide cutting base makes for fast work.

Do not be fooled by the apparent simple design of this little mower when lifting it out the box. The end-result punches well above it's weight.

5.0 out of 5 stars No faults here, 2 July 2007

This review is from: Qualcast Easi-Trak 320 32cm Electric Rotary Lawn Mower (DIY & Tools)
This mower is 5 star. It trundles over our small garden like a featherweight mini-tank. If you let your garden grow too long, you will end up emptying the grassbox three or four times, but it's so easy to use, I am now much less lazy about getting the mower out at regular intervals. The height adjustment is easy peasy. Recommend to anyone.
