This is a truly awful novel. The plot is pretty disgusting, and poorly cobbled together. The prose style is infantile, and riddled with errors. The content of the threats/dares/punishments made by the antagonist would have seemed childish had this been written by an adolescent schoolchild - that they were created by an adult author (presumably?!) is nothing short of a disgrace, and show the level this novel is at.
The vain attempts to add some background to the antagonist seemed forced and so unrealistic as to be irrelevant and unmoving. The novel is too long by far, and gets bogged down in the middle with large swathes of unnecessary prose largely irrelevant to the plot.
If this were a movie, you would find it in the bargain bin - I am grateful that I did not have to pay for the book.
