Dating from 1971 & 1972 I can just about remember the series being broadcast on the radio and at the time caught some of the shows. I'd say this is the kind of gentle show you either take to or don't. It is right up my street being a mix of silly, cynical and sometimes topical comedy with music. The bonus of course is the teaming up of performers Ronnie Barker with Terence Brady, Pauline Yates and pianist Gordon Langford. The comedy comes from a whole host of writers and fits together very well. The funniest for me as it is still so true is the sketch about a manager's washroom attendant getting passed over...Buy this dip into the past and be amused.
