Fellow Travellers by T C Worsley,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Fellow Travellers (Gay Modern Classics) (Paperback)
This book was supplied promptly, in excellent condition at a good price. I bought it following references to it in the collected letters and diaries of Benjamin Britten, but found it a very well written and valuable insight into the socio-political views and actions of a group of bisexual and homosexual artists and idealists (including a thinly-disguised Stephen Spender and Giles Romilly, Winston Churchill's nephew) in 1930s England towards Communism and the Spanish Civil War. I would recommend it not only as valuable reading for students of the period but also for its depiction of some of the realities of the Spanish war at close quarters. T.C.Worsley was an underrated writer.
