I loved this film. It starts with Johnny Depp as William Blake on a train journey. Not THE William Blake by the way as he was, of course, long, long gone. This William Blake is (would you believe it?) an accountant travelling to a new job. Trouble is, the job has already been taken. Fate takes its toll and Blake gets into BIG trouble with the boss of the factory where he thought he had the accountants job (could be something to do with killing the boss's son after sleeping with his girlfriend). The boss is Robert Mitchum by the way with John Hurt as his charge hand. Blake gets a bounty on his head and is pursued by bounty hunters - the most evil of whom is Cole (Lance Henriksen) a REAL nasty. He teams up with a Native American (red indian) known as Nobody (brilliantly played by Gary Farmer. The film also has Gabriel Byrne, Iggy Pop and Alfred Molina.
My brother said it was a bit of an Art House Film as the scenes fade to black but it is stupendous and very watchable.
Really atmospheric music by Neil Young and lots of great photography.
Did I mention it is in black and white?
... but that really adds to the atmosphere.
A very overlooked 1995 film. Watch it and see if you agree.
This is the music from that film and I think it will be very collectible in years to come. Some of the soundtrack from the film included and VERY moody. Not typical Neil Young and no vocals - but brilliant!
