Of fractional interest only,
This review is from: The Best Of Joy Division (Audio CD)
There's something odd about the way the Joy Division-the 3rd name for what were a bunch of amatuer Manchester musicians-selected the name.According to The Little Black Book of Music the name came from what were the brothels in concentration camps so are we to assume they used the English language? Even in the German language the words "joy" and "division" have totally different meanings which have nothing to do with prostitution
Whatever this is a band which ended when singer Ian Curtis committed suicide-something which has never been explained other than his epilectic disease finally killed him
Though the Joy Division were to resurface as New Order-note the contination of Nazi imagery as their 2nd name was Warsaw-the music might have seemed an unlikely contender for classical interpretation as the Nau Ensemble cut a string quartet CD called Variation on Joy Division.Or a CD of cover versions called AND
Whether they'd ever have charted later its worth noting that Love Will Tear Us Apart was a posthumous hit
Really just a footnote to pop music in general

You are obviously not familiar with Joy Division's music, this is abundantly clear from your "fractionally interesting" review.

No commentary on the music here, just bs guesswork about the bands name. Utter tosh.
