This review is from: One More Night: Bob Dylan's Never Ending Tour (Paperback)
Mr. Muir's book is an essential acquisition for Dylan die hards and casual fans alike. That's a difficult line to navigate but the author expertly does so here, appealing to the likes of myself - whom when Dylan is touring another time zone must know the setlist from the night before before a solitary corn flake is consumed - as well as to those that have dipped into the church of Dylan Live on a more casual basis. It never professes to be encyclopaedic (being all the more enjoyable as a result) but instead focuses on one man's entirely subjective account of a passion that has accompanied him for a considerable chunk of his adult life. It's a passion that has voyaged through peaks and valleys at various points and Mr. Muir doesn't shy away from scathing criticism or lavish praise when he feels same is called for. The Never Ending Tour is an important part of Dylan's immense career and this is to date the most compelling and entertaining account of one man's experience of it. A Must.
