3.0 out of 5 stars ... whey powder with no sugars and this one is great in that respect, 2 July 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 100% Whey Vanilla Ice Cream Protein Powder 2.27kg (Personal Care)
as a diabetic i wanted a whey powder with no sugars and this one is great in that respect.

The item that arrived was exactly as per the item images on amazon (i have had items arrive with different nutritional values to what was in the images before)
so it is perfect in terms of nutrition and needs

for taste though, this is the blandest protein shake i have EVER had

its not bad tasting just VERY VERY VERY weak

when i add two scoops to oatmeal you can still barely taste it but hey, it does its job and doesn't taste bad..
I think i will buy ON whey again but not this flavour

Just out of interest. What is the reason you would like to eliminate carbs from the shake?

Would it not make sense as a diabetic to take a carb supplement with your protein shake and a few units of insulin to counter the carbs? The insulin worked out according to your carb to insulin ratio and the carb supplement weighed/measured exactly and tested carefully. Insulin is after all an anabolic hormone an is required to build muscle. Something like this:Maxi Carbs 1kg sksports powder
