Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: 20 compatible Ink Cartridges to Brother LC1220 LC1240 / 8x LC1240BK + 4x LC1240C + 4x LC1240M + 4x LC1240Y for Brother MFC-J280W, MFC-J425W, MFC-J430W, MFC-J435W, MFC-J5910DW, MFC-J625DW, MFC-J6510DW, MFC-J6710DW, MFC-J6910DW, MFC-J825DW, MFC-J835DW, DCP-J525W, DCP-J725DW, DCP-J925DW (Office Product)
I bought these cartridges for my newly purchased Brother MFC-J825DW. The printer was quite costly but I'm fed up with cheap printers that fleece you for the price of an ink cartridge so decided to go with a higher up front cost and save on ink. These work out as £1 each - amazing value.
They don't have the elaborate lockable orange plastic seals that Brother have on their own cartridges but have a small plastic stopper instead. Apart from that, they appear to be indistinguishable from the originals and slot into my printer without any problems at all.
The quality of the ink is fine and suitable for all normal daily and routine requirements. The one thing I haven't tried as yet is to print photos so I'll post an update as soon as I have.
In the meantime, if you have any questions, please post a comment and I'll reply as soon as I can.
UPDATE & TOP TIP...
I've now been using these for three months and they are working really well. I did have one problem with the yellow cartridge which just wouldn't load. I found the problem was that the plastic seal hadn't ripped away properly - I worked the hole with a needle and it then worked perfectly. The ink seems to be lasting for ever so I'm still recommending this as a five star buy! (updated 7/1/13)

I am considering buying an A3 all in one printer with A4 capability. Would you recommend the Brother MFCJ591DDW printer? What are the negative things about it? Slow? Noisy? Thirsty on the ink? Difficult to set up? ... Thank you. My email is joe.fattouche @europtima.com

I have a Brother MFC-J825DW which is an A4 printer so can't really offer you advice on the A3 printer.
In terms of the one I have and answering your specific questions:
* Negative things about it? - I tend to use plain paper so I haven't really experienced amazing quality prints - we use it for routine things and for the kid's homework and it works perfectly for this
* Slow? - Not an impressively fast machine but I don't print high volumes so this isn't a concern for me
* Noisy? - This hasn't been an issue for me either - it's not silent but I don't have heavy use or sit alongside it, being wireless you can position it out of the way
* Thirsty on the ink? - Not at all, they last a lot longer than my Epson ever did and I've had no problems with cartridges drying out
* Difficult to set up? - No, this was pretty straightforward
