This review is from: Justice League Heroes (PSP) (Video Game)
Yes, yes, from 2006. But wait, this *is* a good game.
You play the role of various characters from the Justice League (start with a choice of seven depending on the mission) from the DC world of comics. For those that only have a passing interest in comics (like me), Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and the Flash would probably be well known, but there are several others (Green Lantern, Zantanna, and Martian Manhunter).
Each hero has a set amount of special skills, and well as a small and big melee attack. Basically, this is a great opportunity to beat the crap out of people, while wearing tights.
The game starts with Superman and Batman destroying some robots that have invaded Metropolis, and then uncovering a large plot which involves several different bad dudes. You, controlling one of a pair of superheroes (the missions are always done in pairs, and you can swap to either member of the pair), and work your way through the environment collecting experience, boosts, and getting too, and beating the boss. There are then some very nice cutscenes between the missions to elaborate the story.
The graphics are good (although you can rotate and zoom the camera, you can't really adjust the angle which is a shame), and the sounds are nice (with the odd quote from each hero adding to the atmospheric music and general sound effects).
The game is pretty easy, and a hero can be revived at a checkpoint (or the end of a mission). If both are knocked out, you get to restart from the previous checkpoint with a nice hint to tell you how to generally do better.
One of the best things, is that when you finish, you can then "unlock" other costumes (with slightly differing abilities and looks), and other characters (all obscure to me, but probably well known to others). It makes a nice change and makes the later runs more interesting.
There are a few not so good things. No multiplayer support (not a big problem for me, but others might be disappointed), and the first third or so, you are only given the preselected pair of heroes. In other words, Superman and Batman will always do the first scene. Those are not huge issues though and this is a good fun game. I have probably spent more time playing this than any other game on my PSP so far.
