Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Philips DVP3520/05 DVD Player (DivX,USB MP3 Creation and Progressive Scan) (Electronics)
overall the machine is good. it does everything you want it too. & for the price you cant really moan. i bought this orignally foir the usb function as i wanted to watch films from a hard drive through ther dvd player & tv. i was not that impresssed with the usb to be honest. i plugged a 1tb hard drive into the dvd player to watch some divx movies & for some strange reason the dvd player doesnt reconize all the movies on the drive. it would only find approx half of the divx movies. also it had trouble finding my music collection on the same drive. again it found some music & not others. again this was only about half of the content of the drive. maybe the drive was just oo big? i dunno... anyways like i said overall this IS a good machine.

P. A. Turner says:
Many DVD players that can read DivX files through USB have a maximum file number capacity. This is often about 500 files. So if your external USB-connected device has, say, 600 files, only 500 will be recognized.
