This review is from: A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man (Penguin Modern Classics) (Paperback)
When I read about the comment the Irish prime minister made on the catholic church a few days ago, this book came into my mind. I read it a long time ago, and I still vividly recall the horrors of catholic education and the tremendous inner conflict the narrator went through. Of course, that is not all, because at a certain age we all go through our own horrors, being catholic or not. And we all have to find some way out in order not to perish. So, everyone will find a piece of him- or herself in these pages. Highly recoomended.
