This review is from: Waking the Princess (Mass Market Paperback)
In this story set in the Highlands of Victorian Scotland, we meet Christina Blackburn & Aedan MacBride. There's a legend in the MacBride family about a sleeping princess and a curse, a little like Sleeping Beauty & Briar Rose. Aedan has a copy of a painting based on the legend, to the mortification of the model, Christina.
For she is an antiquarian for the national museum, sent on a trip to Aedan's land to check out a discovery, that could lead to Aedan losing his home..
This is a gripping read, especially if you enjoy books based on fairy tales and legends. The twist in the end also is good, though not quite so unexpected. This was my first Susan King book, and I'd like to read more..
