Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective Board Game (Toy)
I bought this game as it is possible (and indeed preferable) to play it cooperatively rather than against the other players, this is a great way to have fun while playing together.
The material is very well written (with very few typos) considering it is a translation from English to French and then back to English.
The solution to the first case was relatively simple but there are a number of pitfalls and red herrings that must be dismissed or avoided if the case is to be solved in anything like as few leads as taken by Sherlock himself. The scoring depends on solving the case both completely and swiftly, not an easy matter.
Overall, the level is not too difficult though it is best if one person, at least, is happy to read through the story and clues to the others. The reference material is excellent, giving a great deal of interest and depth to the stories, a visit to all the locations in the directory would take a lifetime though I expect to visit many more in the future cases.
Further cases are available in French and these, it seems, may be translated and made available in English if demand for the game is high. I therefore, urge you to buy this game so that I may have many more hours of entertainment.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a violin lesson.
