That's,''Hello,Earth!''in the common tongue of Barsoom, sorry,Mars. Not a bad adaptation of a 1911 story,''A Princess of Mars'',original title,''Under the Moons of Mars'',the 11-book series created a wholly believable world, unfilmable until now.Pity a generation or two has never discovered ERB's Mars and Venus series, they were overshadowed by Tarzan. And they're wholesome,no bad language/unnecessary ''scenes'' for young readers.Pity the second book,''Gods of Mars''will not be filmed,as it was even better than the first. The series covers cloning, organ transplants, rocket travel-back in the 20's!!!the late astronomer Carl Sagan and chief astronaut John Young-who went to the moon twice-both grew up reading the books,so they definitely influenced them.
