This review is from: The Plantagenets: The Kings That Made Britain (Hardcover)
I saw this book in The Works at the start of the year so when I returned to buy it it had sold out. I'm sure, after discovering Richard's body there must of been a rush for all things Plantagenet! The book is a large coffee table sized book packed full of interesting pictures, facts and the text is well written too. I think this is more of a beginners guide to the Plantagenet's, and although it's nice to look at, if you already know your stuff there is nothing in this that will stretch you. But all the same I've enjoyed reading it and it makes a nice change to see the Plantagenet's getting some attention. I think I'm all Tudored out!

Sorry, but I don't think 'seeing a book in The Works' qualifies you to give it a rating. Don't mean to be harsh, but reviews like this annoy me as the stars are misleading. If I bought a book from the star content alone, as I'm sure many people do, without bothering to peruse the reviews, I may end up very disappointed.

Well that's your opinion, however, I have described the book explaining that it's a beginners guide to the Plantagenets, I stated quite clearly that it may not be suitable for those who already have a deeper knowledge of the subject. I can't understand your problem quite frankly by me saying that I had seen it it The Works, it was sold out and therefore went on to purchase it from Amazon. There are plenty of other reviews on this book that may suit you better, so decide if you want to purchase it from them. Simple.

Apologies, I didn't see the part where you bought it at Amazon, I still don't actually, but I do apologize sincerely, I just get fed up of reading reviews from people who freely admit they have not read the book. No offence intended.

I can see your point. Actually, I just assumed that people would of known I had brought it here. Why else review something if you've not brought it from an Amazon seller or Amazon direct? Either way, I've brought the book, read it and enjoyed it! Not a bad book for Plantagenet fans!

Fair do's, I bought it anyway. Once again, apologies if I caused offence, I should think first!
