This review is from: Jet Pilot [DVD] (DVD)
This is a film for die-hard John Wayne fans only. A very weak story and not much flying. Not worth seeing, try something else. Not one of his better films. Set during the height of the cold war, a Russian aircraft enters U.S. airspace and lands at a USAF airbase where JW appears to be the senior officer. The pilot is female and claims asylum. She is treated to a number of flights in USAF aircraft and after a short period it is decided to repatriate her. Wayne marries her in an attempt toallow her to stay in the US and discovers she is a spy. He tehen flies back to Russia to do some spying back when the dastardly Russians start slowly poisoning him. His 'wife' discovers this and they both steal an aircraft and make good their escape back to the US.
Wayne made many better films and only Ghenghis Khan challenges this one for bottom place.
