This review is from: The Open Group Architecture Framework TOGAF 2007: Incorporating 8.1.1 (Togaf Series) (Paperback)
I am a Software Engineer of some experience and I bought the TOGAF book last year and read it. Subsequently I have attended a training course on TOGAF 9 and believe the course has provided a much easier way of consuming this subject. The sheer volume and dryness of the subject makes it diffuclt to read the book and come away with confidence about the subject.
I would recommend that if you want to read this material then use the On-line version as it's free.
If any of you have any experience of Cap Gemini's IAF then you are essentially doing a subset of TOGAF which does include many more Artifacts and phases throughout the entire lifecycle.
Hope this helps.
