A good read,

This review is from: My Alien Self: My Journey Back to Me (Memoirs of Amanda Green Book 1) (Kindle Edition)
This book was a good read - but does need a fair amount of editing, as other reviewers have mentioned. I would have liked to know more about Amanda's parents' home, for example - it featured so much in the story, as she keeps returning there after various life problems, but I could not visualise the place at all. Also, I got a fair idea of what 'Amanda' (a pseudonym) looked like, but did not develop a mental image of anyone else (except Chris, her boyfriend, to a small extent).
I do think that the author has a natural story-telling ability, and also that her story has the potential to help others. I could not give the book less than four stars because of this, and because it also comes across as honest, which is very important for this sort of a book. I related to Amanda as I read her story, which was compelling in many places. But I do think she has been badly served by her editor - so much more could have been done to correct the many typing errors, to better orgnanise the story...
I think Amanda should keep writing, and keep reading, and hopefully eventually she will produce a second edition which is an improvement on this one. Or even better, she will write a new and better book, on this or another subject. She has clearly learned a lot from her journey so far, and is still young enough to transform her life still further. I will definitely buy her next book, and hope she sees this review as the encouragement I intend it to be.
