This feature-length documentary is beautifully filmed with stunning aerial photography. Its subject is the Earth and mankind's impact on it including global warming. It reminded me of Koyaanisqatsi/ Powaqqatsi [DVD] which I also enjoyed though this one is more didactic. Some will find Glen Close's commentary a little too earnest - if so I recommend trying the French male narration instead even if you don't speak French as you still get the atmospheric music. There is a very good "Making of" doc at the end (subtitled).
For me there is a bit too much emphasis on wind and solar power being the answer to all our problems. There are other alternative energies such as tidal and ground source, and perhaps our best hope lies with the development of nuclear fusion (the source of solar energy).
As the director admits, it is not always comfortable viewing but it is beautifully photographed and IMHO well worthwhile watching.
