Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Berlitz Language: Rapid Italian Vol. 2 (Berlitz Rapid) (Audio CD)
I bought Vol 1 a while ago and was really impressed with it but was doubtful about buying Vol 2 due to the negative comments on here. Nevertheless, I went ahead and am really glad I did!
Much of the criticism is about sound quality; I honestly don't get what they mean - it's absolutely fine. The opening 'track' / 'conversation' is supposed to take place on a plane so in the opening 5 seconds there is 'aircraft' noise but this quickly fades and it's back to the normal audio.
I find this method of learning ideal as a supplement to the Hugo Italian books I am also using. It is 'gentle assimilation' rather than 'head down' study and it seems to sink in without any effort. I listen to it while walking the dog, car journey, doing the ironing etc and found it really does work for me. It is also worth commenting that my husband finds it useful too - he can't / won't learn from books but actually finds this fun.
I thoroughly recommend this as either a pre-holiday swat or as a supplement to a more intense course of study.
Have they done a Vol 3 yet? :)
