5.0 out of 5 stars it was this or a Nexus 10, i'm glad i chose this!, 16 Sep 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Asus ME302C MeMO Pad FHD 10 10-inch Tablet (White) - (Intel Atom Z2560 1.6GHz, 2GB RAM, 32GB eMMC, WLAN, Bluetooth, 2x Camera, Integrated Graphics, Android 4.2) (Personal Computers)
i have had a Nexus 7, pretty much since launch, but wanted a tablet with a bigger screen.
i was stuck with the decision between this and the nexus 10.
both were similar price
Nexus 10 has a higher resolution screen, but lacks an SD card slot and HDMI output.

so i took the plunge and bought this, and i'm happy to report, its a terrific bit of kit.
its handled every game i've thrown at it so far, no problems at all.

POSITIVES:
- battery life is reasonable (i have to admit that i charge all my devices every night anyway, so battery life is never normally a problem)
- the screen is sharp as a pin and very responsive!
- the memory is plentiful, 2GB Ram & 32GB Storage.
- build quality is very high as well. there is no flex in the case or creaking of plastic when i pick it up.

NEGATIVES:
- the only one i can think of so far, is the Bloatware that ASUS has installed, but even with this most of the apps can be disabled/uninstalled.

overall its a lovely machine and i would gladly recommend it to anyone! :)

Great review Dan, i've been waiting for some reviews on this tablet. I can't find this tablet anywhere to see yet before purchasing here in the UK and have assumed that these ones on here are coming from abroad? Did you physically get to go look at it somewhere first or just buy it here and take a chance? My reason for asking is that i have read a couple of pre-release write ups that say that maximum brightness is poor, how do you find it compared to the Samsung Galaxy tab and Note line? I am waiting for the release of the new Samsung Galaxy Note 3 10.1 with some anticipation but i'm sure my choice will be between that and the Asus MeMo Pad FHD.
Maybe you'll be kind enough to give us an updated review after you've had it a little while please?
Best wishes.

Hi leonard,
as far as i can tell the machine is UK spec (it comes with a UK mains charger :) )
the only reviews i had seen were from google searches. there was (and still is) very little out there
i watched this review, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJpy5I3wu3E (warning, this is 25mins long)
to be honest i took a chance, but i got lucky! :)
i've not noticed any problems with the brightness, i have it set to Auto brightness, and watched Transformers 2 on it last night, the picture looked good to me.
i've not seen the spec for the Note 3, but my dad has the Tab 2 10.1" and its a fine bit of kit too.

i'll try (if i remember!) to give a more detailed review in a couple of weeks once i've had more of a play around

Cheers
