A worthy addition to the shelf of any manager or student,
This review is from: Resource-Based Theory: Creating and Sustaining Competitive Advantage (Paperback)This book is an easy to read, accessible and intelligent overview of an important area of strategic management.
Based upon the most important and influential publications (to mid 2005 or so), this text provides an overview of what RBV is (and what it is not), where RBV fits into the bigger study of strategy and into functional areas of the organisation before closing with a consideration of the future for RBV.
It offers insight for both the UG and PG student as well as the practising manager in understanding where and how an organisation can add superior value, through understanding the attributes of its resources that have been implemented in a given strategy (and with an understanding that this is only a limited window of advantage).
A recommended text for any final year strategy programme or postgraduate programme considering strategy development.
