This review is from: Donizetti: Lucia di Lammermoor (Audio CD)
OK, her diction is rather uninspiring, OK, her portrayal is purely musical, but WHO CARES? Her Lucia is second only to Callas's. It is unfair to dismiss it as too sweet, because she puts a lot of effort into her portrayal, and her diction isn't half as bad as her detractors would have you believe. Pavarotti, Ghiaurov, Tourangeau and Milnes are all fabulous too, and Bonynge is a very lucky conductor to be working with such talent. A dream ticket.
