Dannii Is Back!,
This review is from: Neon Nights (Audio CD)
Whoever said that Dannii lived in the shadow of her younger Sister was wrong. For 2003 is THE year of Dannii Minogue. And if you only buy one Minogue album this year - make sure it's "Neon Nights."
This album concentrates on ultra-cool dancefloor fillers, from hedonistic single "I Begin To Wonder," to the Spiller-inspired "Don't Wanna Lose This Feeling" and the potential disco classic, "Vibe On." With three good singles already in the bag, the rest of the album is a pure joy to listen to. In essence, any of the songs have great potential as singles, never lacking a beat, but drawing their influences from the groove of the 70's, the electronica of the 80's and the classy-cheese, (!), of the early 90's.
This album is for anyone who likes to dance, sing in the shower, bop around in their bedroom with a hairbrush, enjoys uplifting tunes - or just wants to drool over the shots of Dannii inside the cover! So, that's just about everyone covered.
The only downside is that Dannii's predominant voice varies little throughout the album. However, it's a minor point.
