WOW - its Simply the best,
This review is from: First Test (Protector of the Small) (Paperback)
I love this book! i was hooked. it got me laughing sometimes.
Keladry wants to be a Knight(just like the Lioness of Tortall Alanna)But it's pretty hard for girls to become Knights. Only Alanna has achieved this.
Lord Wyldon has put Kel(11 years old) on probation for a year, but only if she is good enough can she stay and become a second year page. With all the boys bullying her and insulting her, how can she reach her second year as a Page?
Kel has a very difficult year ahead of her. Kel decides the it is not right with all the boys(mostly Joren and his gang) bullying her and other first year pages. But she sorts them out. With black eyes and bruises! But she does get a few friends to help her. With Neal(her sponsor) and others can she stop the Joren and his gang from bullying her and the younger ones?
And can she survive her probation with Wyldon's eyes waiting to see something go wrong. He's putting her through some hard times. But she gets stronger and stronger as the days, weeks and months go by.
But who is giving her gift to help her get through it all? No one knows and who will?
But. And this is a BIG but. i would not read this unless you have read The Songs of the Lioness Quarlet and The Immortals Series. These sort of go with the story. if you dont you may not know who is who and what is what. And you will not get alot of back round knowledge on the Kingdom of Tortall. So i suggest you read the other Quarlets.
But overall this book is SIMPLY THE BEST!!
