Fantastic Third Novel in the My Blood Approves Series!,

This review is from: Flutter (My Blood Approves, Book 3) (Kindle Edition)
Alice Bonham is adjusting to life as a vampire with her new family, Jack, Mae, Ezra and Milo...oh and don't forget Mathilda. But before she's even come to grips with her own self-control and bloodlust she's racing, not quite halfway around the world, to save Peter from a rabid pack of lycans. If that isn't enough, trouble is brewing back home. Milo has a boyfriend, Bobby, and Mae is crumbling under a new tragedy (didn't she learn anything from Interview with a Vampire?).
This is the best of this series so far. This is what I've been waiting for. There's lots of action and drama and Hocking really gets to stretch her imaginative muscles, which is how she does it best.
I loved the idea that lycans are in fact rabid vampires rather than werewolves, thought that was pretty cool. And the characters she introduced were distinctive and yet wonderfully camp (in a scary way though, there are some gruesome moments).
For me the best part of the novel was Alice's first person narrative. It has improved so much since she became a vampire mostly because I think Amanda's handle on the bloodlust is perfect. Never at any point did I forget that Alice was a vampire hungering for blood and I think this may be one of the best handling's of a vampire first person narrative I've read.
Action-packed, tense, exciting and cool. Five stars!
