A good start for G scale model railway,
= Durability: = Fun: = Educational:
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Playmobil City Action 5258 RC Freight Train (Toy)
What you get?
A locomotive (requires 6 AA batteries - rechargeable recommended) and a remote (requiring 9V battery)
Some stickers and buffers, hooks etc. to attach with the loco.
A wagon with 3 containers
2 figures with small accessories
12 curve tracks and 2 straight tracks + connectors (all made of plastic)
What is good?
The loco is compatible with 45 mm G gage track. So it should run on your metal G scale tracks as well.
Typical battery operated RC locos for G scale costs several hundred pounds. So this is a good deal if you are in to garden railway.
The loco has directional lights and sound. Top part of loco can be pushed open to place figures inside.
What is bad?
Quality control - my first loco didn't work (the link between RC and loco was hit and miss). Had to send it back and got a replacement.
Only 1 wagon is included! Playmobil could have included at least one more wagon/passenger coach. A train with just one wagon doesn't look good. Playmobil/LGB rolling stocks are not cheap!
The doors in loco are molded. Would have been great it could be opened :-p
Loco has toy-like appearance. OK, I know it is sold as toy but I bought it for my garden railway :-)
Plastic tracks! (I know it is meant for kids so metal tracks was ruled out)
