Not the very best of the Two Ronnies,
This review is from: The Best of The Two Ronnies (BBC) [DVD] (DVD)
I don't know who assembled this collection but I find their choices somewhat surprising. Not included are many of the classic sketches which many people remember the Two Ronnies for (eg no 'Fork Handles' or 'Rook Restaurant'). Not included either are any of the 'series', such as 'The Worm That Turned' or 'The Phantom Raspberry Blower of Old London Town'. And amazingly, there are no news items which appeared at the beginning and end of every episode. Instead there are some rather obscure sketches, some of which may have been topical in 1983, and some of Corbett's less memorable monologues. I also would have liked the collection to be longer (there's certainly enough material), and more than one musical piece.
The collection redeems itself on the inclusion of sketches such as 'Nuts Milord, 'Mastermind' and 'The St Botolph's Country Dance', hence two stars, and it's still better than the other Two Ronnies DVD which is available.

I was looking for a "best of" that would include Fork Handles - so thank you for saving me from what would have been a total let down!
