Great show but wait for the US release.,
This review is from: Spartacus: War of the Damned [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)
I thought it was a bit strange that Anchor Bay decided to release this series on Blu Ray a mere two weeks after the show finished airing. This was not the case with the other seasons as I recall they all came out in the Autumn.
My reservations were confirmed this release has no extra or subtitles.
I would imagine many customers expect a decent amount of extra content to justify a Blu Ray purchase not to mention the inclusion of subtitles for the hearing impaired. To be quite honest it is a scandal in this day and age to leave out such a basic feature.
Anyhow I wanted to make people aware before they purchase this that the US release will have deleted scenes, interviews and audio commentary.Although there is no release date yet I would suggest sometime before or during September as Vengeance was.
Ultimately this is a lazy cash grab by Anchor who couldn't even wait to include the special features before releasing this.

Thank you for the warning. I almost bought this bare bones set and would have been seriously frustrated. I think most people would have preferred waiting a bit longer and getting a complete set with extras.
For those interested in the extras that should have been there and that are planned for the US release (as listed on Television Blend):
Spartacus DVD Bonus Features
"Spartacus: The Legend Retold"
"The Price Of Being A Gladiator"
"A Bloody Farewell"
"The Spoils Of War Revealed: Visual Effects"
"Adorning The Damned "
"The Mind Behind Spartacus"
Spartacus Blu-ray Bonus Features
All of the DVD Extras

Thanks for the warning. I preordered the second season blu-ray, and it had the very same problems, no subtitles, no extras, full price. Anchor Bay should not be allowed to ever publish any high-quality series again. To ruin this great series for the fans by making it a cash grab and, ultimately, a bargain bin product, is unforgivable.
For people who just want to see it once, it might be a good idea to wait a couple of weeks until it shows up on internet streaming services (Season 2 came very early to Netflix), and watch it there. As a new customer you might manage to watch the whole season during your free trial month, at no cost at all, WITH subtitles.

I've just ordered mine from EZY DVD Australia, I managed to get 'Vengence' with subtitles via Devoted Australia last time, so I'll keep you posted.
I know the Aussie one is region B and the uncut version.
