Although it's still fashionable to have a go at Amazon for selling defective product, it is just a platform to buy. They sell direct and also list other registered sellers - so an EBay-style "caveat emptor" sensibility must be applied by customers for any purchases. You've unintentionally degraded the Smiths album (& the band) by giving the record only one star, because you have in fact "reviewed" it.
I've always had good co-operation for defective or incorrect items bought via Amazon (which is certainly not the case with EBay). You should instead direct your ire at the record label and/or the actual manufacturers of the vinyl, especially if it's supposed to be mint/new.
A formal complaint gets results - I know of one artist who was contacted when no less than 3 (sealed) vinyl albums of her debut record (purchased via Amazon) were faulty & sent back. She was not happy; the artist and her label's customer services guy took up the matter - the customer got a full refund and a free vinyl copy is on the way too (but we're still holding breath about its pressing quality).
Please hold that finger & pause for thought before posting a pointless rant! :-)
